Technical prescription
No doubt, the textile industry is passing a difficult phase. But there is always way out. Only thing that is required at this time is the proper implementation of strategies. India in particular has got a huge domestic market and that could provide a sustainable demand in the long run.

The industry will have to build a cost-efficient and competitive production base. This will call for not only investing in technology, but also selecting a business that can provide improved returns in the future.

Towards this end, the industry will have to move up in the value chain. Besides, there is need to break the shackles of producing commodity textiles and start the production of value-added textiles like technical textiles.
