Chennai based garment major plans expansion
Sneha Chrysolite Paul - Chennai

With a view to garner at least a 10% market share in the next five years, Chennai based garment major, Natalia is planning on opening 80 outlets across the country in the next 5 years.

Launched in the year 2000 Natalia is now a major player in the Chennai garment market. With a Rs 50-lakh turnover this year, Natalia is looking up to make at least Rs 600 crore in the next 5 years. When asked if it was a big leap, Mr G Shankaranarayananand, VP, Natalia asserted that the market was still vast and a large sector was still untapped. He added, “After analysing the present market and its response throughout the country we plan to expand and consolidate by making our presence felt to the upwardly mobile customers in the B&C class cities and increasing market share in the A class cities.”

The price range of Natalia ranges from Rs 825 to 1295 for bottom woven clothes and Rs 595 to 895 for tops woven clothes. This is comparatively cheap when compared to Allen Solly’s Rs 875-1220 and Rs 700-1100 respectively in the same segments. At present Natalia has its outlets at Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai and Coimbatore and is also being retailed through retail MBO’s like Hi-style, Women’s World and Ebony chain of stores. By the end of this year, Natalia would be retailed at over 30 outlets both exclusive and Multi Brand (MBO).
