TEA demands green cards for exporters
E-Tex Staff - Coimbatore

In order to attain the numero uno position among the states, the Tamilnadu government has placed thrust to exports in its industrial policy. In a memorandum to the chief minister, Ms J Jayalalitha, the Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has suggested issue of green cards to trigger the expected momentum.

Some of the states in India have already formulated scheme to issue green cards to exporters. The recipients of the cards are entitled to move their export/import consignments freely without hindrance from government departments. Goods are exposed to minimum inspection at check posts. All the proposals will be quickly cleared by all departments of the state governments. The work spots of the green card holders may be brought under the ambit of essential services act. There will be a single window agency for all card holders of all state departments for licence, permissions, compliance and renewals.
