Express textile index numbers of market prices of raw cotton

Super Fine, Medium Coarse continue uptrend

During the week ended August 8, 2002 cotton prices continued showing gains. In the Super Fine category, DCH-32 was the biggest gainer with a rise of 534 points followed by both MCU-5 and Shankar-6 with 253 points each and MECH-1 with 85 points. In the Medium Coarse variety, NHH-44 gained 141 points and SGJ-34 rose by 28 points.
