P P Jewellers takes on a new shine with an apparel line!
Nidhi Srivastava - New Delhi

Come October and Delhites will have another option added to their list of shopping stores. PP Jewellers, the name that was recently in news for its wax statues of actresses Shilpa Shetty and Sridevi, now has plans to make it big into the market with its apparel collection. The work for the launch of their two brands ‘Cat’s Eye’ and ‘K-Jewel’ is already on and its three stores at Karol Bagh, Pitampura and Green Park, by the name of PP Junction, will open to the customers sometime during the Navratri. While the Cat’s Eye is a menswear collection, the K-Jewel will offer designer-wear complemented by precious stones and jewellery, for all. “Known Italian designers are doing the designs of garments which are being produced using the best of the machinery,” explains the owner of the store, Mr Kamal Gupta, who is also trying his hands at designing garments after being a success in the line of jewellery. An in-house production of his designer collection will also be on display.

“Since we believe in perfection, we have imported the best quality machines that are completely automated CAD/CAM systems used for pattern making, grading etc. Technology is definitely playing a very important role in our plans,” he adds. The store plans to establish a nation-wide presence, with its next location currently planned as Ludhiana.

Since they are already exporting jewellery and have a major market in UK, export of clothes is also on the cards. With a strategy to categorise its quality according to classes, the brand would be positioned as an alternate to world class clothing lines, at affordable prices.
