Cotton prices decline on correction
During the week ended August 16, 2002 cotton prices witnessed southward trend.

China, Pakistan, Turkey will be most influential in determining cotton prices

ISA to seek dumping duty withdrawal on acrylic fibre
The Indian Spinners Association (ISA), the apex body of the spinners of blended yarn in the country has made a fresh appeal recently to the Designated Authority (DA) in the ministry of commerce to immediately withdraw the anti-dumping duty on acrylic fibre in view of its adverse impact on the working of spinning industry and also on consumers.

A turnaround to reckon with
Riding on the buoyant denim market as also backed by its restructuring programme, textile major Arvind Mills has posted a net profit of Rs 25.58 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal as against a net loss of Rs 67.88 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.
