ISA to seek dumping duty withdrawal on acrylic fibre
E-Tex Staff - Mumbai

The Indian Spinners Association (ISA), the apex body of the spinners of blended yarn in the country has made a fresh appeal recently to the Designated Authority (DA) in the ministry of commerce to immediately withdraw the anti-dumping duty on acrylic fibre in view of its adverse impact on the working of spinning industry and also on consumers.

The DA has convened a special meeting in New Delhi with the ISA representatives to discuss its stand in this regard. The ISA sources said that under the provisional findings, the centre has imposed anti dumping duty on imports from UK, Germany, Bulgaria and Brazil. The anti-dumping duty is equal to the difference between the landed cost of consignment and $0.684 per kg in the case of UK, between the landed cost of $0.143 per kg in the case of Germany and the corresponding figures in the case of Bulgaria and Brazil are $0.619 per kg and $1.275 per kg respectively.
