Power
tariff hike would lead to closure of small spinning units

Another
hike in power tariff would prove to be a death knell
to the small spinners in Tamil Nadu, according to the South India
Small Spinners Association (SISSPA).
The
spinners were already facing crisis due to the frequent increase
in power rates and levy of 20 per cent
additional
charges for power consumed during peak hours, which accounted for
16 per cent of cost of production, the SISSPA president Mr R Chinniyan
told reporters.
