With denim apparel back in vogue, it’s action time for the manufactures to showcase the outcome of the R&D activities to the fashion world. Coimbatore based K G Denim, has recently rolled out six ultra new fabrics for the forthcoming season.

"The new products are developed based on the current trends and inputs taken from the designers in the US and Europe. We are extensively active in fashion qualities and are oriented to the customers’ needs," said Mr S Rajagopalan, general manager, K G Denim.

The new collections unveiled in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi include Criss Cross, Body Line, Avalanche, Elastique, Galaxy and Inkys. Criss Cross is a variety of cross hatch fabric, which was introduced two years back. The new fabric is developed with different weaves and prominent slubs in the weft. Body line is a range of stretch denims based on cross hatch, streaky and slubs for comfort, lustre and high elasticity. For the colour conscious customers, K G has on offer sulphur based indigo blue, indigo base sulphur topping and electronic blue under the Avalanche range and innovative colours like olive green, lemon yellow and chocolate brown under the Galaxy collection. Elastique is developed using branded polyester stretch fabric from Reliance Industries. The poly denim fabrics have similar properties of cotton fabrics like wash effect, moisture absorbency and luster.

According to Mr Rajagopalan, K G Denim is the only manufacturer of fine polyester denim fabrics. "These products are developed in consultation with Reliance, which is also supplying poly filament yarn."

K G has recently formed a core group, Fashion Trend Management group (FTMG) to interact with customers in various countries to understand their requirements. "We also get to know the pulse of the industry from the market research group. Our team also visit some of the international fairs" he added.
