AP to compensate cultivators of BT, Monsanto comes under fire
Andhra Pradesh government has promised to compensate the farmers whose Bt cotton crops failed even as the opposition demanded that Monsanto Corporation, which introduced the crop, be “blacklisted”.

MSP for raw jute to be increased by Rs 10
With a view to negate the adverse impact of dilution of the Jute Packaging and Mandatory Act on farmers, the government is likely to increase the minimum support price for TD-5 grade of raw jute (ex-Assam) for the season 2003-04 by Rs 10 to Rs 860 per quintal.

New VC for AEPC
Mr Ashok G Rajani has been elected as the vice chairman (WR) of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).
