US expresses concern over trade imbalance with India
Expressing concern over the growing trade imbalance between US and India, outgoing US ambassador to India Mr Robert D Blackwill said American exports to India have languished at low levels since 1997.

‘Made in India’ show in Colombo
In a bid to increase bilateral trade, joint ventures and investments, over 100 companies across diverse sectors of the domestic industry showcased their latest technologies in the ‘Made in India Show’ in Sri Lanka, organised by CII from May 27-31 at Colombo.

Pak should accord MFN status to India
As part of confidence-building measures, Pakistan should reciprocate and accord India MFN status to move in the direction of improving bilateral economic and trade ties, the minister of state for external affairs Mr Digvijay Singh said.

B’desh for experimental free trade with India
The Bangladesh foreign minister Mr Morshed Khan has supported the proposal for a bilateral free trade agreement with India, to help reduce the huge trade deficit against Dhaka, on an experimental basis.

Kazakhstan seeks Indian investment
The Central Asian Republic of Kazakhstan has sought Indian investment for developing a wide range of sectors including textiles, leather and plastics.

The recent rally in textile counters was overdue for some time now. The domestic industry is certainly turning around, if one goes by the financial performance of textile companies for the fiscal ended March 2003.
