Kazakhstan seeks Indian investment

Agencies - New Delhi

The Central Asian Republic of Kazakhstan has sought Indian investment for developing a wide range of sectors including textiles, leather and plastics.

Speaking at a seminar here, counsellor of Kazakh embassy Mr Ruslan Akhmet said as many as 30 Indian companies were operating in the country. The joint secretary, external affairs, Mr Rajiv Dogra, reiterated the country’s commitment towards enhancing ties with the erstwhile Soviet republic. He said that the region had several positive points which were conducive for investment including high literacy level, abundant reserves of gas and other natural resources along side a dedicated workforce.
