hikes polyester, fibre variants prices in August

Reliance
Industries (RIL) has raised the prices of polyester and fibre intermediates
by over three cent for the month of August as compared to July.
The company in a statement said that the price of Partially Oriented
Yarn (POY) has been increased by 3.8 per cent as compared to July
prices. The price of POY now stands at Rs 68.15 per kg as compared
to Rs 65.65 for July. The price of Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF)
has been raised for the month of August by 3.5 per cent (Rs 2 per
kg). The price for the current month is Rs 58.75 per kg as compared
to Rs 56.75 per kg for July. For polyethylene terepthalate (PET),
the price has been increased by 3.9 per cent for August at Rs 53
per kg as compared to Rs 51 per kg for July.
In
fibre intermediates, the prices of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA)
and Monethylene Glycol (MEG) have been increased by three per cent
and 3.9 per cent at Rs 34 per kg and Rs 40.2 per kg respectively.
The company has also increased the price of Polyethylele (PE) and
Polypropylene (PP) by two per cent and 2.3 per cent respectively.
The price of PE have been revised to Rs 41 per kg from Rs 40.2 per
kg while PP price have been increased to Rs 44.35 per kg from Rs
43.35 per kg. The price of Polyvinyl Chloride, however,
has
been reduced by Rs 2 per kg for the month of August. The price now
stands at Rs 38.5 per kg from Rs 40.5 per kg for the month of July.
