Textile stocks continue to move northward
There was a mixed sentiment during the week (ended Thursday, September 4) as the technical correction set in on Wednesday pulled the Sensex down by 80 points.

Woodland to now focus on apparel
Aero Club, which owns the Woodland brand, has decided to focus more aggressively on apparel this year. Currently, apparel accounts for 30 per cent of the company’s turnover.

Lifestyle India to open 7 shopping malls in next three years
Lifestyle India, a part of Dubai-based Landmark group, is planning to double its number of malls in India to 14 in next three years and expects to increase its turnover to Rs 650 crore in fiscal 2007 from the present Rs 350 crore.

The new textile minister has evinced keen interest in rejuvenating the jute sector which has so far been not successful in drawing the attention of the policy makers.
