Texworld is fully booked up with over 600 exhibitors

Where else do so many different exhibitors with their top-class merchandise and high production capacities meet? Where are trends and innovations so perfectly matched to the needs of retailers and clothing manufacturers?

Once again, Texworld is already fully booked up! At the coming Texworld fair to be held from September 16-19, 2003 across six exhibition halls (A, A1, A2, B, C, D), that is the entire space of the CNIT exhibition centre in Paris La Defense, the international textile industry will again be presenting to an audience of professionals the latest trends from the world of garment textiles. To ensure that exhibitors also have enough time to talk to their clients over supper at the end of a busy day at the trade fair, the event organisers have altered the opening times of Texworld accordingly - it will now be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An indispensable event for market players

Since Texworld first appeared on the trade fair calendar in 1997, closing what the textile industry saw as a quite considerable gap in the market, it has become an indispensable trade fair for the garment textile sector. Despite today’s difficult economic climate, Texworld remains on course for success: once again it will be fully booked up in September with over 600 exhibiting companies from approximately 40 countries, among them also newcomer Israel. The trade fair has more than enough on offer. Where else do so many different exhibitors with their top-class merchandise and high production capacities meet? Where is such a diverse range of goods put on display in terms of quality and pricing? Where are trends and innovations so perfectly matched to the needs of retailers and clothing manufacturers? Exhibitors are showing themselves to be competitive in absolutely every respect.

New partner nation Turkey

In cooperation with ITKIB, the Turkish Association of Textile Exporters, and the Turkish exhibitors at Texworld, Messe Frankfurt has chosen Turkey to be Texworld’s partner nation for September 2003. Within the framework of this special campaign, the Turkish clothing industry hopes to put its creativity and innovation to the test and will be presenting itself to an international audience of professionals in various special shows and special events.

Visitors and exhibitors can look forward to uncovering the latest trends as seen by Turkish designers, impressive examples of the special influence the Turkish textile industry has on the fashion world and joint presentations put on as part of a unique marketing concept developed specially for this project. Since the first Texworld in 1997, Turkish companies have been among the largest and most important exhibitor groups at the show. In selecting Turkey as its partner nation, the Texworld fair is acknowledging a country that has become one of the most influential players in the international textile industry. As the largest official association of textile manufacturers and exporters, the ITKIB plays a key role in the international expansion of its members.

With a state-of-the art portfolio of marketing and information tools and its participation in trade fairs across the world, the ITKIB is pursuing one single goal: the opening up of international growth opportunities for its members. No other event outside of Turkey sees so many Turkish exhibitors of garment textiles as at the Texworld trade fair, and the partnership project will underline the significance and growth of the Turkish textile sector.

To be creative and to be able to pick up trends - exhibitors must again prove they possess these two abilities at the coming Texworld in order to win new customers. And, to do so, they rely not least on working closely with designer teams. After all, they have to meet the rigorous selection criteria for participation in the fair. The event organisers demand very detailed information both on products and the company itself and base their decision on several criteria: are the applicants among the trend leaders in their industries? Are they in a position to adapt to the needs of the market and to perfect their production in terms of quality, capacity and delivery times? Of particular importance here is the preservation of intellectual property rights and impeccable behaviour in the market.

Just how popular an exhibition stand at Texworld is, can be seen by taking a look at the length of the applicant waiting list. A targeted selection Many new, carefully selected companies from China are again with us at Texworld. This is thanks to the work of "CCPIT-Tex", the new selection committee at Messe Frankfurt France, that for some time now has stood by Messe Frankfurt’s side as a partner organisation for all the textile fairs in China.

The department responsible for the textile industry from "CCPIT", the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, hopes to promote and strengthen the contacts and cooperation within the garment textile industry. In this way, manufacturers from China will be selected in an even more targeted manner. A group of five Romanian companies will take part for the first time. These exhibitors, backed by their government, complete the range of goods being offered by other groups that have already been seen several times at Texworld in the past: namely CCPIT Shanghai (China), CCPIT Jiangsu (China), Japan Creation (Japan), D.E.P. (Thailand), A.B.I.T. (Brazil), Japan Textile Gallery (Japan). "Private Suite" The ‘Private Suite’ is a new marketing concept that relies on a selective customer approach. Here, in a screened-off area, away from the steady stream of visitors, an especially quiet and focussed working environment awaits VIP buyers specifically invited by some exhibitors.

Several companies, like Beximco (Bangladesh) and The Arvind Mills (India), will be making use of these private oases. A clear and efficient structure for trade visitors The trade fair has been subdivided into different product segments. These are: cotton, denim, linen, silk, silk look, printed fabric, knitwear, wool, functional fabrics and the category "fibres, styles and trends". A colour-coded visitor guidance system will facilitate orientation. Exhibitors will be presenting buyers from across the world with their Autumn/Winter collections for 2004/2005 and the latest trends for Spring/Summer 2004.

The trends

The Ricerca & Comunicazione styling team from Italy will present the all-important themes of Texworld at the Trend Forum. Here, visitors will get the opportunity to marvel at samples of the products on display that most impressively underpin the creativity and quality of participating companies. The Trend Forum will be taking place on all four exhibition levels at Texworld in line with the individual product segments and will invite trade visitors to uncover the trends for Autumn/Winter 2004/2005 under the slogan "Family House":

Chambre blanche: white in all its various shades dominates in this room, alongside muted papery tones. Together with a mixture of plaster and natural tones, this colour scheme creates a cool ambience.

Chambre d’enfant: the "child’s room" in pastel, wintry tones, with sophisticated colour plays for a cheerful atmosphere.

Chambre des parents: in the parents’ room, warm colours create a baroque atmosphere using designs and patterns that take their inspiration from silky, shimmering fabrics.

Jardin d’hiver: the winter garden receives its visitors against a backdrop of the most diverse shades of green, with bright spots of colour here and there like the feathers of an exotic bird.

Voie de la reassurance: the most diverse shades of grey await the observer on the "reassuring path"; lava, tar and rock with metallic and iridescent traces.

The event organiser sees no cause for concern with regard to SARS. Current information from the World Health Organisation on the SARS virus is wholly reassuring. The organiser will, however, review the situation each day and has already put in place all the necessary measures for the trade fair to run without a hitch should certain countries remain at risk in September.

Edit
Restoration of jute base
The new textile minister has evinced keen interest in rejuvenating the jute sector which has so far been not successful in drawing the attention of the policy makers.
