Jaypak colour matching system

Made for the colourist by colour experts

The Jaypak colour matching system is one of the most user friendly and versatile colour matching systems in the world today. The company, Jay Instruments & Systems (JISL), is part of the Jaysynth group, a premier manufacturer of textile dyes and pigments in India. JISL has a team of dyeing and printing experts who have had wide experience in application of dyestuffs to textiles.

Features

Fast, accurate colour matching and retrieval

The Jaypak system will rapidly generate formulations to match a desired shade using 1 to 5 colourants. It is quite normal for a dyehouse to realise at least 20 per cent savings over traditional, manual matching methods. Most colour matching systems rely heavily on the user’s ability to create highly accurate dyeings for creating a database of dyes. However, Jaypak goes much further by assisting the user every step of the way in ensuring that the data bank created is as accurate as possible. For example, upto 4 dyeings of every concentration can be used and the system ‘intelligently’ guides the user in rejecting a wrong dyeing. For the perfectionist user, upto 15 levels of dyeings can be entered for every dye. At the same time, Jaypak is also intelligent enough to generate good matchings even with flawed data with the help of automatic ‘smoothing’ or ‘monotone’ correction of the K/S data.

In fact, Jaypak can generate a useful match even if only 2 levels of dyeings are available.

The matching/formulation software can also be used to generate good results even when the substrate or process used is not the same as the substrate or processes used for the creation of the data bank with the help of substrate or process affinity factors. The formulations generated can be stored in a databank for quick retrieval in the future with a number of different options for searching the database.

Reformulation and batch correction

Sometimes initial matchings may not be exact due to unpredictable interactions between colours, failure to maintain exact process parameters, or variation in quality of substrate or base material. The reformulation option corrects the recipe for such variations. The batch correction option will suggest additions to a previously manufactured batch with known or unknown components.

GenieMatch: advanced Artificial Intelligence concept for accurate first match

The GenieMatch program may be optionally used to generate more accurate matchings in the first round itself, thereby avoiding the need for reformulation or shade correction. This program incorporates ‘Artificial Intelligence’ concepts which enables its to self learn with every dyeing. It therefore uses this valuable information of successful past dyeings in combination with the normal matching program to predict a GenieMatch recipe. This has proved to be much more accurate than traditional programs. The GenieMatch program is an expert system which incorporates the dyehouse manager’s knowledge into the formulation process.

Dyestuff blending

This feature is useful to dye and pigment manufacturers. It enables the user to calculate optimum mixing ratios of non-standard lots required to make a standard lot, by utilising linear programming techniques.

Waste utilisation

Wasted or used dyes and print pastes can be easily utilised with the help of the Jaypak system.

Interface with automatic colour dispensing system

JISL also offers a controlled weigh terminal system (manual weighment) and automatic colour dispensing systems with which the Jaypak system can interface. The recipes can be uploaded via serial link or on a floppy. These systems serve to eliminate errors in weighment which is a common cause for off-shade lots.

Accurate colour measurement and instrument interface

The Jaypak software supports the full range of Minolta spectrophotometers from portables to bench top instruments. Minolta instruments are world renowned for their high accuracy and reliability. All measurement conditions offered by Minolta are automatically recorded with the data.

Easy pass/fail and elliptical tolerancing

Pass fail criteria can be set up and stored. They can be circular, elliptical or rectilinear or other or a combination of the above. Multiple data points are easily displayed on any pass fail graph with blink facility to easily identify selected sample.

Edit
Restoration of jute base
The new textile minister has evinced keen interest in rejuvenating the jute sector which has so far been not successful in drawing the attention of the policy makers.
