RIL hikes prices of polymers, polyester, fibre intermediates

Reliance Industries has raised the prices of its polymer,
polyester, polyethelene therapthelate and fibre intermediates for September.
The price of polyethylene has been hiked by 2.4 per
cent over that of August to Rs 42 per kg while that of polypropylene has increased
to Rs 46.35 per kg, up by 4.5 per cent (Rs two), according to industry sources
here.
The price of polyvinyl chloride has been increased
by 10.4 per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 42.50 per kg, they said.
Polyester staple fibre price was up 3.4 per cent (Rs
2 ) at Rs 60.75 per kg while that of partially oriented yarn rose by 8.6 per
cent (Rs 5.85) at Rs 74 per kg while the price of polyethylene therapthelate
increased by 3.8 per cent (Rs 2) at Rs 55 per kg.
In the fibre intermediates segment, monoethylene glycol
is costlier by Rs 1.5 at Rs 41.7 per kg compared to Rs 40.2 per kg in August.
The price of purified terapthelate acid also went up to Rs 35.6 per kg, up by
4.7 per cent (Rs 1.6), sources said. In the chemicals category, there was no
change in the prices of linear alklyl benzene at Rs 54 per kg.
