New cotton purchase rate to be announced

Assuring that the last installment of the amount to
be paid to the farmers for previously purchased cotton will be done before Diwali,
the Maharashtra chief minister Mr Sushilkumar Shinde said the government will
declare the new purchase rate for the cotton in the coming season within a week.
“The government will come out with a resolution to pay the last installment
of the cotton purchased by Diwali”, he said at a meeting convened to discuss
the issue here adding, the government will also declare the purchase rate of
cotton for the forthcoming season within a week.
The meeting was attended by leader of opposition in
the state legislative council Mr Nitin Gadkari, BJP leader in the state assembly
Mr Eknath Khadse and others.
