Woolmark colour trends Spring 2005
Colour remains the core decision of the Design, Fashion
and Textile supply chain as reflected in Woolmarks colour trends for Spring
2005. Colours are becoming more personal and ranges often take on
a statement through their choice of shades. There are well being
and comfort in certain hues and many non-textile businesses are now freely selecting
from the apparel fashion colours of the season, taking them through in to cars,
home furnishing, make-up and anything in the kitchen.
SPRING 2005 - What Drives the Season?
There are four main themes that reflect the season:
CLOSE
A refined intimate zone, housing our inner sensibility.
Taking care of individual needs in a design context that reflects our aesthetical
model.
EDGE
Feeling cool and sporty, getting energy from digital
media. A euphoric celebration of modern life high-tech complexity.
BREEZE
Plunging in an easygoing holiday mood ruled by fun
and affection. Spontaneous leisure and relaxation in blooming nature.
FLIGHT
The aerial perspective of naked landscapes, clear of
everything superfluous. Longing for freedom, harmony and peace.
SPRING 2005 - Colours
The key colour messages for the season are:
- Intimate talcous pastels and elegant neutrals create
a sophisticated setting.
- Mid darks living side by side with accents of glowing
tangerine and fuchsia to provide a personal touch.
- A digital chromatism built on eye-catching colours
like signals: red, orange, yellow and green etched on a white background.
- A tonal saturation of blues from turquoise to steel
reflections.
- The fresh mood of a summer garden. Friendly greens
a a neutral passe-partout.
- Translucent chic white hues, dense mid-tones of
berries and wooden shades expressing the appeal of nature.
- Rarefied blues of water and air enlightened by reflections
of golden ochre, crystal and mauve.
- A peaceful harmony of classic mineral greys and
essential grounded colours. The Woolmark Company has been generating colours
trends for the Woolmark licensees for over 30 years and is privileged in working
with many of the industrys key colour groups and panels such as Premiere
