CHT India commences production facility at Taloja

CHT India has set up its own production facility for textile speciality chemicals at Taloja, Maharashtra recently. The company which currently has got a capacity of 3,600 MT, will expand its production to around 12,000 MT in the next three years. The expansion has been aimed at enhancing the company’s present share keeping in view the requirements of the Indian subcontinent.

“We see India as a very potential market place, particularly at a time when it is entering into a quota free trade regime after the year 2004. Keeping all these developments in mind and the consequent surge in demand for textile inputs in terms of speciality chemicals, we have have put up this plant at Taloja. In the next three years, we intend to expand the production capacity so that the growing requirements can be met,” stated Mr Mahendra Tanna, managing director, CHT (India) which started its business in India in 1996.

CHT manufactures speciality formulations that go into the finishing of textiles for subsequent treatment. The products find application in areas like pre-treatment, dyeing, finishing, printing, flocking of surfaces as also coating.

Commenting on the product profile, Mr Tanna said, “CHT’s approach is totally unique. We just not provide our customers with the required chemicals but a complete solution that includes among others the chemistry and technical support. And this is where we score over our competitors. Furthermore, CHT’s more than 95 per cent products are applied in the textile industry itself.”

The company sources believe that CHT is synonymous with constant innovation, customer-oriented product development as also excellent customer services in co-operation with other business partners.
