ITMA 2003 gives Paramount group leading edge in exports

E-Tex Staff, New Delhi

World’s largest textile machinery exhibition- ITMA 2003 concluded recently at Birmingham, UK. The ITMA Forum is a high profile conference that attracts the world’s leading textile machinery companies and the best in associated services organization, thereby providing a platform for new businesses.

This year, ITMA had over 1,00,000 visitors from over 140 countries. Paramount group, the only company in this field from India, was one of the major participants in the field of textile testing and quality control equipment at ITMA. Paramount group is the largest manufactures and exporters of textile testing and quality control instruments in India with presence in 36 other countries across the globe. With over 6300 installations and 720 labs installed, Paramount is regarded as a pioneer and leader in its field, not only in India but whole of Asia. More than 80% of the buying houses in UK, Europe and the US are using Paramount instruments. In the words of Mr Manjit Singh Saini, CEO & executive director - Paramount group “Our participation has been very useful and worthwhile and has benefitted us for 3 reasons: One, we could get the global view of the competition in the testing instruments industry. Nearly all the major players from all over world were present there. It has provided us the true picture of where we stand vis-a-vis our competitors. Our benchmarking shall now be more logical and accurate. Secondly, the forum has opened the doors of international market for us. It has shown us the real face and potential of the global textile industry whom we are serving. People thronged on our stall from places that are very important but somehow were not in our focus like Morocco, Brazil, South Africa, and Chile etc. Thirdly, we have received a very good and encouraging response for our range of instruments at our booth. Earlier, the perception was that Indian products couldn’t be used for Testing etc. However, Paramount has managed to change that perception and we hope to make a good contribution towards India’s export efforts. We have received authentic and accurate feedback from the visitors at our stall and now we can prepare ourselves accordingly to fulfill their requirements.”

“In short our participation at the fair has been enriching and beneficial and we shall take all steps to make it truly rewarding for Paramount.” Adds the pleased CEO, “Paramount has taken the opportunity from ITMA and is aiming at very expansive growth rates. The company is all set to fortify their standing in industry today, and is designed to replicate their success in the international arena as well. The company is planning to increase its Export team and position people in various countries to take care of operations there.”

Edit
Garmenting growth
Even as the International Textile Manufacturers Federation at its recent annual conference has recognised garment as the fastest growing commodity among all the manufactured items, the exports of the same from the country have shown a declining trend of late.
