Marks and Spencer use Woolscience Technology in bedding

Marks and Spencer have launched a new wool duvet and mattress protector for Autumn 2003. Using Woolmark’s Woolscience Technology, under the marketing of ’Sleep Well in Wool’, the duvet and mattress protector offers absolute comfort and specific well-being benefits to the consumer. Independent tests and research show that by using a wool filled duvet you get a better nights sleep, sleeping more relaxed, waking calmer and stress-free, feeling refreshed and invigorated ready to take on the challenges of the day.

The tests show that sleeping under a wool duvet gives a more relaxed heart rate and wool’s natural moisture management system transfers vapour away from the body leaving the skin feeling fresher and dryer.

The Woolscience duvet is independently endorsed by the Woolmark quality assurance programme and is intended for Autumn/Winter use. The Woolscience technology complements the Marks & Spencer Sleep Science Collection already implemented for mattresses, designed to give the most comfortable night’s sleep. Whilst wool quilts have been available for some time, this is the first machine washable and tumble dryable wool quilt in the UK, providing consumers with an easy to care for duvet.

Garmenting growth
Even as the International Textile Manufacturers Federation at its recent annual conference has recognised garment as the fastest growing commodity among all the manufactured items, the exports of the same from the country have shown a declining trend of late.
