Tex Spares 2004 - Window to the world of spares

E-Tex Staff - Coimbatore

The second edition of Tex Spares, organised by the South India Mills’ Association (SIMA) will be held between February 5-9 2004 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. The expo is aimed at bringing together the manufacturers and suppliers of textile spares, accessories, components and consumers of these items such as textile mills, powerlooms, handlooms, knitters and garment manufacturers under one roof.

The market for spares for the spinning industry alone is estimated to be Rs 1000 crore and mills in the southern region account for more than 50 per cent of the total consumption of spares. Tex Spares holds major importance as apart from the textile machinery and its technology, the accessories play a key role in adding value and quality to the final output. Availability of quality spares at the right time is significant for the smooth running of the textile units. Sourcing the appropriate spares is a Herculean task for most of the textile units and Tex Spares serves as a platform to bridge this gap.

Globalisation has ushered in competition in the textile industry worldwide and mills are trying hard to have an edge over competitors with quality, smart prices and well attended service networks. To remain ahead of the competitors, textile establishments are constantly working at ways to curtail cost of production by sourcing the best raw materials and spares. It is hoped that the fair will help textile units to source spares and accessories from best manufacturers and dealers at competitive rates to increase productivity and bring down the cost of production substantially. With importing spares from offshore countries becoming a costly affair, many textile units are finding ways to source Indian spares of international standards.

The fair will serve as a window to the spares market and will enable textile units to get acquainted with the availability of all kinds of textile spares in India. The event is expected to give a facelift to textile spares manufactured in India as a reliable substitute for costly imported spares. It will be an effective platform for the prospective business visitor to compare and contrast appropriate spares among the wide range of spares. In many of the units, the upgradation process is hindered due to the apprehensions by the textile units about the availability of spares for Indian and imported machinery. Tex Spares 2004 aims to remove such apprehensions and to kick off the slow pace of the upgradation process.

Objectives

  • To promote and create general awareness about the availability of all kinds of textile spares, accessories, lubricants, electrical/electronic items
