‘Supplying value-added, high quality fabrics to RMG sector will be our thrust’

Our thrust continues to be value-added products, we are also working towards further improving our qualities. Besides, we are expanding capacities by 100,000 metres per month, which will be in addition to the current 2.5 million metres. This will be done at an investment of Rs 8-10 crore.

One important area that we are looking at is partnering with the garmenters. We are in the process of setting up a team within Siyaram, which will study the raw material requirements of the garment manufacturers. Today, garment manufacturers are not comfortable working with the Indian fabric makers due to poor deliveries and quality. We are aiming at solving this problem of the garmenters, and are working towards our deliveries and quality, so we can enter into long term commitments with garmenters for supplying the right kind of fabrics. Consistency in quality is important. At present, we supply very small quantities to the garment manufacturers, but this is a thrust area for Siyaram, as we realise that the garment sector will drive the textile industry.
