IWTO announces the World Wool Award

The International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) has announced the World Wool Award, a project that will celebrate wool, its future use in products and markets and lead to research and innovation in the sector. The intention of the World Wool Award is also to promote young people acting in this area.

The projects awarded by IWTO should deal with matters of the wool sector, its fashion, marketing or innovation. There will be three categories of award: Fashion & Design, Marketing & Promotion, as well as Concept, Innovation & Extension. The competition is open to young people, students, trainees and young professionals from textile/fashion universities, academies and schools, companies and institutes. According to a recent survey, cotton fabric has maintained its favourable slot among the fashion apparel buyers. The survey has re-affirmed that cotton continues to reign as compared to other fabrics when basic attributes are concerned.
