Ciba Specialty Chemicals sets new standard with fabric softener that ensures ultra-high whiteness

- Ciba ULTRATEX FMW versatile silicone softener gives silky handle and maintains optimum whiteness
- High versatility - suitable for numerous fibers, end uses and combined finishes
- Increased comfort in wear through enhanced fabric absorbency; improved elasticity, resilience and sewability

Ciba Specialty Chemicals has launched a new-generation silicone softener, Ciba ULTRATEX FMW, which gives fabrics a silky handle while maintaining the highest degree of whiteness. “ULTRATEX FMW will allow fabric and garment manufacturers to make a dazzling mark in the market and end users to enjoy feeling good and looking good,” says Eric Marohn, global head of Ciba Specialty Chemicals’ Textile Effects Segment. “With its innovative new silicone structure, ULTRATEX FMW ensures a so-far-unattained combination of super-soft, smooth handle with ultra-high whiteness.”

ULTRATEX FMW is designed for white textiles, including sportswear, t-shirts, business shirts, intimate apparel and bedlinen. Its excellent absorbency also makes it highly suitable for terry toweling items. Applied by padding or exhaustion, it imparts optimum softness to natural and/or regenerated cellulose, synthetics and their blends. High compatibility with numerous other products allows ULTRATEX FMW to be used together with different finishes and permits optimum flexibility and dependability in production. Garments finished with ULTRATEX FMW combine comfort with a strikingly attractive appearance: in contrast to many silicone softeners on the market, ULTRATEX FMW maintains and can even enhance the inherent absorbency of cellulosic fibers, thus increasing comfort in wear and in some cases reducing static charge.

The strong fiber-lubricating properties of ULTRATEX FMW increase fabric elasticity and resilience, as well as burst and tear strength and abrasion resistance. The product also improves sewability, thus reducing the risk of needle damage and hole formation during garment make up and use. Excellent wet and dry soiling behavior and high wash fastness ensure that garments retain their whiteness during manufacture and wear.

Ciba Speciality Chemicals sets new standard for cost-effective deep shades on cellulose

- CIBACRON S reactive dyes for warm exhaust dyeing of cellulose fibers achieve new state of the art in cost-effective deep shades

- Outstanding build up, very high fixation and good fastness

- Integrated solutions for pretreatment, dyeing and finishing

Ciba Specialty Chemicals has launched a new range of reactive dyes for warm exhaust application on cellulose, CIBACRON S, which set a new standard in cost-effective deep shades on cellulose. “CIBACRON S dyes open up new horizons as regards shade depths attainable with reactive dyes,” says Eric Marohn, Global Head of Ciba Specialty Chemicals’ Textile Effects Segment. “This patented dye range, which is based on an innovative chemistry, combines high cost effectiveness with outstanding application properties. With our integrated textile solutions comprising pretreatment, dyeing and finishing, optimum results can be achieved and market requirements met.”

The new chemistry ensures exceptional build up, enabling very deep shades to be produced cost effectively with low amounts of dye. High fixation ensures good fastness and excellent washing-off behavior, resulting in high productivity, allowing water and energy saving in mills, and minimizing dye in wastewater. Good leveling and diffusion properties make for right-first-time results and allow short-liquor-ratio dyeing. Applications include knitgoods for leisure- and sportswear such as polo and T-shirts, woven goods, for example shirting and pants, and yarn dyeing, especially for shirting. Ciba Specialty Chemicals offers integrated solutions for pretreatment, dyeing and finishing of textiles, uch as Ciba SMART PREP in conjunction with CIBACRON S dyes and Ciba ULTRAPHIL moisture management finishes. To help customers achieve the required results, Ciba provides a wide range of technical services, including color matching.
