Lenzing to offer Tencel products

With the takeover of the Tencel group of companies by Lenzing AG, now Lenzing will offer Tencel worldwide.

According to Mr K C Aggarwal, executive president, marketing, Sutlej Industries, “We are already using Modal and Lyocell from Lenzing AG and now we will also spin and sell Tencel products offered by Lenzing. Lenzing has decided to sell the total Lyocell fibre under the brand name ‘Tencel’.”

He informed that with Lyocell and Modal, they have achieved a good amount of success with varied appliations in apparel, bedsheets, bath rugs, terry towels, denim, socks, innerwear, nightwear and sportswear.

He further stated that with each passing day the new generation fibres were finding applications which were hitherto dominated by cotton fibre. Tencel operates one large scale plant in USA (Mobile, Alabama) and another in the UK (Grimsby), with a total nominal capacity of 80,000 tonnes per annum.
