Tirupur-based SNQS group has set up a spinning unit of 12,000 spindles with an investment of Rs 20 crore. It is also planning to set up a Rs 10 cr processing plant at SIPCOT, Perundurai.

Sara Apparels, the apparel division of Coimbatore-based Super Spinning has upped plans on backward integration. The company is setting up a knitting unit of 10 machines with an investment of Rs 6 crore.

Bodywaves, a garmenting company, is planning, with Italian collaboration, a yarn-dyed shirting manufacturing unit with a capacity of half a million metres per month in Bangalore. The unit will be operational by April 2005.
