Reliance eyes construction industry for boosting fibre sales

Reliance Industries is targetting the construction industry to increase the revenue of the fibres marketing division of the company. Head of business development (Recron 3s) of Reliance Industries, Mr M K Goyal, said that the construction industry in India, valued at Rs 2,50,000 crore, was huge potential for Reliance to market Recron 3s modified polyester manufactured as a petrochemicals derivative at the company’s Patalganga plant in Maharashtra.

He said that Recron 3s was gaining acceptance as a fibre reinforced concrete, used in all kinds of construction work, particularly in seismic zones for making them more resistant to earthquakes. To popularise Recron 3s, Reliance is also organising conferences and mason educational meets in collaboration with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), which is functioning under the ministry of planning.

Tredegar Film Products acquires manufacturer in China

Tredegar Film Products Corporation, a subsidiary of Tredegar Corporation, announced that it has purchased Shanghai Yaheng Perforated Film Material Co, a manufacturer of apertured nonwovens used primarily in personal care markets. Yaheng is based in Shanghai, China. Mr Thomas G Cochran, president of Tredegar Film Products, said, “Yaheng expands our technology base and product line in apertured nonwovens for feminine hygiene products and other potential applications in personal and household care markets. This acquisition is another demonstration of Tredegar’s commitment to profitable growth in China and other emerging markets.” Yaheng is Tredegar’s third manufacturing site in China. The company has another plant in Shanghai and one in Guangzhou.
