During the week ended September 30, 2004, cotton prices showed a downtrend.

A new natural cellulose fibre from cornhusks
For the first time, natural cellulose fibres with properties between cotton and linen have been extracted from cornhusks. These fibres have been blended with cotton in various proportions and processed on the ring and rotor spinning machines.
