KG Denim ventures into home textiles

KG Denim has diversified into home textiles, and has set up a 4 lakh metre per month facility for manufacturing wide-width bedsheeting fabric. The company is also planning to start production of terry towels by the next financial year.

Pratibha moves into terry towelling

Surat-based Pratibha is planning a terry towelling plant of a capacity of around 48 looms. The total project cost is estimated to be around Rs 40 crore.

Binny's revival plan

Binny has announced a revival plan of Rs 45 crore at its Doddaballapur apparel park-based manufacturing facility near Bangalore. The facility will create manufacturing capacity for 2000 metres per day for silk sarees and 30,000 metres per day for polyester blends.

Strategy for jute
The recent approval by the Planning Commission to set up a jute technology mission on the lines of the cotton technology mission, though late, but an apt move. The effort once implemented will go a long way in rejuvenating the jute sector which has so far been not successful in drawing the attention of policy makers.
