Spykar Style Lab - ‘Do Your Jeans Contest’

E-Tex Staff - Mumbai

Spykar Jeans announced its third annual ‘Spykar Style Lab - Do your jeans contest’. Entries are invited from youngsters and college students to style Spykar Jeans, unleashing their creativity and imagination. Contestants would have to download a form from www.spykar.com. They are required to use any old pair of jeans, create something new and avant garde with it. Entries can be sent to the nearest Spykar outlet in their city/town by December 4, 2004.

Twenty-five of the best designs will be selected from these entries and well-known models will sashay down the ramp in a fashion show in Mumbai sporting these designs. The three most commercially viable designs would be produced under the Spykar Jeans label as signature lines of the winners. There will also be a prize for the most radical design. Speaking about the contest, Mr Sanjay Vakharia, director, marketing, said, “Spykar Jeans is synonymous with the youth and thus keeps a track of the latest trends as well as pioneers new trends. Since Spykar Jeans is into fashion denims and our focus is to bring out the fashion in today’s youth, we have introduced this concept. We would like to see how well they experiment with designs and what does fashion actually mean to them.” Spykar Jeans is planning to go international as well.

The effort once implemented will go a long way in rejuvenating the jute sector which has so far been not successful in drawing the attention of policy makers.
