Market jittery as sentiment turns negative
After weeks of uptrend, the Sensex moved southward during the week (ended January 6, Thursday), shedding nearly 200 words. The Sensex closed the week at 6367 point.

Wal-Mart sales estimate boosts sector
Wal-Mart Stores Inc, the world’s No. 1 retailer, has said December sales would be at the top end of its prior estimate on better-than-expected post-Christmas spending, driving its shares up 1 per cent.

Monsanto net loss narrows, shares fall
Monsanto has posted a narrower quarterly loss on higher seed sales even as the agribusiness company struggled with stiff competition and looming legal liabilities.
