Trends in Living 2006 are about clear, bold and exotic colours alongwith dusty,
pastel and muted tones. Fabrics are made to show their full potential, and designs
focus on essentials, the use of patterns is very specific. Floral prints and
filigree lines make for lightness, while stripes, ornaments and symbols give
added expressions.
Longing for the spirit of Africa Colours
The earthy hues of this theme cover the whole spectrum from light to dark tones.
Warm spice tones, especially orange and rust red, together with a dark brown,
are keynote colours. Beige and cream white supply a calming note.
Fabrics
Coarse textures with a rustic effect recall materials found in nature. Linen
and cotton-like structures lend character to the materials. One catches glimpses
of interweaving and bast here as well.
