Seminar on Lenzing Modal in Tirupur

After intensive and prolonged research and development Lenzing AG, Austria the world leader in cellulose fibre technology introduced Modal fibres. Today, it is the only producer of modal with all ‘modal specifications’ for the world textile industry.

In order to familiarise the industry about the world’s leading cellulosic fibres - Lenzing Modal and Lenzing Tencel - a technical seminar was organised on A. Ganapathe Chettiar in Tirupur. The seminar was conducted by Mr Nitin Gupta, Lenzing Fibres, India and presided by Mr Pradeep Roongta, Stuti Exports, Mumbai, Mr T A S Dhanddabani from Ganapathe Chettiar, Tirupur.

The seminar emphasised the value-addition in garments by these fibres. Lenzing Modal (g) is an incomparable fibre with high wet modulus originated from pure beechwood and is an ideal substitute for polynosic.

The fibre meets the demands required by fashion and performance textiles with excellent wear properties, soft, smooth handling, absorbency, gentle to the skin, dimensional stability, colour brilliance and easy care. The high degree of purity, uniformity, strength and the good processing properties of Lenzing Modal at all production stages guarantee high-quality yarns for high quality textiles.

Rajasthan Textile Mills is the authorised spinning mill to produce Modal and Lyocell in India and A Ganapathe Chettiar is the leading yarn agent in Tirupur who has taken over the entire marketing and promotion of Lenzing Modal and Tencel for Tirupur and surrounding markets.

Mr T A S Dhanddabani, director, Ganapathe Chettiar, said, “Buyers and exporters have realised its use and have accepted it as a successful value added product in garment exports. International buyers are demanding innovative products, that too products of natural fibres for regular consumptions.”
