The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has fixed a target of contracting 24,000 hectares under Integrated Cotton Cultivation Programme for the year 2005-06, which is above the target fixed by the government.

Government moots handloom mark
In order to provide a boost to the handloom sector, the government is working towards launching ‘Handloom Mark’ on the lines of Silkmark and Woolmark, said Mr G Mathi Vathanan, executive director, Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC).
