Premier
Evolvics establishes shop in China
Premier Evolvics, part of the Coimbatore based Premier Mills,
has become the first Indian company in the textile machinery
sector to set up shop overseas. The company has established
a manufacturing plant in the Jiangsu province of China.
CCI
to contract 24,000 hectares in 2005-06
The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has fixed a target of
contracting 24,000 hectares under Integrated Cotton Cultivation
Programme for the year 2005-06, which is above the target
fixed by the government.

moots handloom mark
In order to provide a boost to the handloom sector, the government
is working towards launching Handloom Mark on
the lines of Silkmark and Woolmark, said Mr G Mathi Vathanan,
executive director, Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC).

announces National Jute Policy 2005

the UPA government recently announced the National Jute Policy
2005 of India, which aims to take exports to Rs 5,000 crore
by 2010 from the existing Rs 1,000 crore.
