China International Home Textiles Design Competition 2005

In conjunction with Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, Messe Frankfurt, the China Home Textile Association and The Sub-Council of Textile Industry CCPIT, have launched the third 'China International Home Textiles Design Competition' to encourage and promote innovation in home textile designs. Entrants stand to win prizes in cash and international exposure making it one of the largest competitions of its kind in China.

Home textile professionals and design students from around the world are invited to submit designs showing their interpretation of the theme 'harmony'. Products submitted may include any type of home textiles in sets or as single items including bed linen and bedding products, terry products, household textile and carpet. Contestants can also enter essays related to home textiles.

A panel of designers, industry experts and professors from leading Chinese and overseas associations , design institutes and corporations will make their final judging at end of July.

The prizes will be presented at an award ceremony held on the first day of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2005 and the winning entries will be displayed at the competition display zone throughout the fair. The competition will reward home textile students and professionals and to give them added exposure in a market where demand for original home textiles is rising. It also provides both exhibitors and visitors a guide to the current and future trends in home textiles.

Over 450 exhibitors and 25,000 buyers are expected to attend Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2005, which will cover more than 69,000 sqm. The fair will house a full range of home textile products from around the world. In 2004, the fair featured over 380 exhibitors from 18 countries and attracted over 19,400 trade buyers.
