Airbrush effects
This is the age of special effects - be it in a Harry Potter
movie or on your fabric. The in vogue, airbrush effect, sure ignites the imagination
According
to the latest fashion trend CHT has developed various products for individual
designs on fabrics with glitter, metal, colour and flock effects by means of
spray application. With a spray gun, textiles can be easily and individually
designed with artistic licence.
Bleaching with chlorine bleaching
Spray chlorine bleaching onto the jeans. After waiting a short while (5-20 minutes,
depending on the concentration and the desired degree of bleaching) the bleached
fabrics are washed and neutralised.
Designs full of contrasts can be produced by applying a resisting agent (e.g.
Transprint SC 11) before the bleaching process.
White airbrush
Printperfekt
SPL 70 is a ready for use product for producing sprayed areas or creases. It
may be coloured with pigment dyestuffs in order to achieve coloured spray effects
on dark substrates.
Printperfekt SPL 70 is applicable with 1 component use but if necessary Tubassist
Fix 102 W may be added to improve the fastness level.
Fixation terms:
130-150°C, 8-5 minutes.
For a fixation between 20-80°C the addition of 3 per cent
Tubassist Fix 104 W is required.
GLITTER
Tubvinyl 238 SPL is a ready for use adhesive system for producing
glitter and flock effects.
Recipe recommendation:
TUBVINLY
238 SPL
5 per cent Colormatch GLF
2 per cent Tubassist Fix 102 W
Fixation terms:
130-150°C, 8-5 minutes.
For a fixation at 20-80°C
3 per cent Tubassist Fix 104 W may be applied if necessary.
FLOCK
For flock effects a sufficient adhesive layer is important. After spraying on
the adhesive the flock fibres are shot into the adhesive layer still being wet
by means of an electrostatic flock device. Afterwards, the adhesive must be
dried and fixed.
After the fixation we recommend a cleaning process (suck off, wash) to remove
excess flock fibres.
Interesting two colour effects are achieved by additionally dyeing Tubvinyl
238 SPL with Colormatch GLF Glitter. In the edge areas with spray mist there
is not enough adhesive to anchor the flock fibres. Therefore, the glitter effects
become visible in these areas.
PERMANENT CREASES
We recommend to spray the following onto the jeans to provide
them with permanent creases:
56 per cent water
35 per cent Tubifast BN 35
4 per cent Tubingal MUG
5 per cent Tubassist Fix 104 W
Those areas where the permanent creases are to be produced are sprayed thoroughly
with this solution. The desired creases are then formed with a bent aluminium
tube and dried for either 1-2 days at room temperature or for 30-90 minutes
at 80°C and fixed afterwards for 5 minutes at 150°C.
These creases can be additionally sprayed with Printerfekt SPL 70 and colour
to increase the effect.
PEARL EFFECT
Coloured spray effects with a slightly metal gloss can be achieved by spraying
Printperfekt Perl onto fabrics.
Printperfekt Perl must be diluted with 10 per cent Tubassist KAT 107 W to adjust
the viscosity. With the use of 0-4 per cent pigment different colour variations
can be produced.
We recommend to use 2-4 per cent Tubassist Fix 102 X.
Fixation temperature:
130-150°C, 8-5 minutes.
SUEDE SURFACE
Printperfekt EX TS is a foam paste which can be sprayed after
being diluted. The achieved surface has a suede-like character and is wash fast
up to 60°C.
Recipe recommendation:
Printperfekt EX TS
10 per cent Tubassist KAT 107 W
10 per cent water
2 per cent Tubassist Fix 102 W
0-5 per cent pigment dyestuff
Foaming is carried out at temperatures above 150°C for
5 minutes.
GLASS BEAD ADHESIVE
Glass beads are also top fashion but so far, they have been
hard to realise. This is no longer a problem with the special adhesive Tubvinyl
237 GP for the wash fast furnishing of all kinds of textiles with glass beads.
Print Tubvinyl 237 GP, sprinkle on glass beads and fix. The effects are wash
fast up to 40°C.
METAL FOIL EFFECT
Texmetal Bond is a sprayable transfer adhesive for bonding
metal foils. If necessary, Texmetal Bond can be diluted with up to 10 per cent
water and is then sprayed onto the jeans by means of a spray gun. After drying
(room temperature or 80°C, 5 minutes) the metal foil can be transferred
by means of a transfer press.
Transfer conditions:
180°C, 20 seconds
After cooling down the residual foil is released. Metal oil
prints are wash fast up to 40°C at the most.
