New designers at the Texprint Design Award 2005

Texprint held its annual prize-judging day recently where the winner of the Weave Prize sponsored by The Woolmark Company was selected and presented by Beppe Pisani, President of Serikos SpA, Ideacomo and co-President of Milano Unica. In selecting Marie Brisou, who recently graduated from St Marin’s College of Art and Design, Beppe Pisani commented that Marie’s textiles were very interesting, with a beautiful mix of old style sampling along with exciting new yarns.

The Texprint Design Awards aim to showcase new designers and link the best newly graduated textile talent with the industry. The top textile design graduates from British colleges are judged by leaders from the international industry each year and given the chance to launch their careers at this leading textile design exhibition. Texprint 2005 showcases the work of 25 UK textile graduates, from more than 200 nominations. The five winners for the categories of Print, Weave, Knit, Colour and Breaking New Ground, will exhibit their work at Indigo in Paris.
