Silk Mark Expo Mumbai-2005

To commemorate the first anniversary launch of Silk Mark in Mumbai, the nodal office of SMOI, Mumbai has organized the Silk Mark Expo Mumbai-2005 at the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. This is the first event of this kind in India where an exhibition-cum-sale is arranged participating the authorised users of Silk Mark.

If this event is proved successful, the same will be extended to other cities as well. Mumbai city will for the first time get an opportunity to see and feel the Silks of India brought by the silk weavers direct from the weaving clusters all over India. The special feature of this Expo is that only pure silk products duly labeled with Silk Mark are allowed to be displayed or sold. Around 40 participants are registered for the Silk Mark Expo.

Silk weavers and co-operatives direct from the traditional weaving clusters across the country will participate in the Expo. An exotic collection of silk products ranging from sarees, dress materials, made-ups, garments, furnishings are expected to be displayed.

Participants will also sell their products in the Expo. Each product is required to be labeled with Silk Mark logo to ensure that they are of pure silk in their base fabric.
