High level of interest boosts Heimtextil India

As the region’s most valuable trade fair for sourcing high quality home textiles & accessories, Heimtextil India, being held at the Bombay Exhibition Center, is a “must attend” event on the agenda of the global textile trade. “With quota restrictions coming to an end, the Indian home textile industry is poised to enter into a new era of global trade. Hence, Heimtextil India is the most important business platform for the Indian textile industry at this crucial time of growth”, says Mrs Shammi Nagpal, managing director, Messe Frankfurt India.

Heimtextil India has generated more interest from overseas exhibitors this year. Exhibitors from France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Korea, China and the US are set to stage their first entry into India. The highlight of this year’s fair is an unusual Trend show titled “Rooms with a View”. Created from regions of the world that influence living styles with their innovative designs and high quality products, these “Rooms” will showcase outstanding home collections for the industry to view and learn from.

To keep up with international trends and gain acceptance in foreign markets, Messe Frankfurt India has provided this sector with a special area called “Design Overload” where European designers from the design capitals of the world - Como, Paris, Lyon will showcase their designs for prints, jacquards, wallpapers, fabrics archives and design consulting. As usual Gunnar Frank, Europe’s premier Trend forecaster will conduct daily seminars for the Trends of 2006 - 2007 to the entire industry.
