ITMA ASIA 2005 generates good response

ITMA Asia 2005 from October 17-21, has generated very good response. The strong response for ITMA ASIA 2005 is the result of the emergence of Asia as a major player in the global textile industry. Mr Edward Roberts, president of CEMATEX said, “Fabric output in Asia increased by over 50 per cent last year and this figure is set to grow. In 2004, Asia accounted for 92 per cent of all spinning machine shipments, 88 per cent of all shuttleless weaving machine shipments and 69 per cent of all knitting machine shipments.” “ITMA ASIA 2005 is an excellent platform for textile players to come together and learn more about the various textile technologies that are increasingly being deployed by countries around the world. In this event, spinning products will contribute over 28 per cent of the total product groups while exhibits from the finishing sector will take up some 25 per cent of the show,” he added.

Textile manufacturing is a major driving force for many Asian economies and the industry forms the main livelihood of the population. With the majority of the world’s textile manufacturers based in Asia, ITMA ASIA serves as an important trading and networking platform between the textile machinery manufacturers and textile manufacturers. The removal of the textile quotas, under the WTO and FTA aegis at the beginning of 2005 has given rise to new challenges in the already competitive market. At ITMA ASIA 2005, it will be an excellent time for industry players to witness the latest technology, state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, related machinery, software and knowledge that can be used to increase production efficiency - a key factor for factories to stay in competition.
